The Bible confirms the Existence of Sub-atomic Particles

"By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible." Hebrews 11: 3

In 1900, German Physicist Max Planck gave rise to a new field of scientific endeavor called Quantum Mechanics. In effect, this is the study of quantum particles and their interactions with one another. Such particles (which include electrons, neutrons, tachytrons, gravitons, quarks and a whole host of other particles) are far smaller than photons of light.

In short, everything we see in the universe is made up of sub-atomic particles that are smaller than photons of light - as a result, the things which make up the universe around us are not visible! Just like the verse above says, the universe is comprised of particles that are smaller than that which is visible. Of course we have experiments, techniques and equipment that let us know such particles exist. Nonetheless, Scripture is shown to be reliable yet again!

"For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountains of ignorance; he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries." - Robert Jastrow
