The latest from the CEM blog
I just got back from preaching for a week of Senior Teen camp (June 2nd thru 7th) at Horton Haven in Lewisburg, Tennessee. There was a very good turn out with 71 campers in attendance. Horton Haven’s theme for the summer is based on Philippians 3: 14 – “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus”. The goal of the Christian life is to be conformed to the Image of God’s Son; the prize is that intimate knowledge of Christ Jesus the Lord. It’s a great theme and the camp is using the backdrop/setting of a blue ribbon fair for each camp this summer. During the messages, we looked at lessons from the life of good King Josiah (II Kings 22 and 23; II Chronicles 34 and 35).

The earliest copies we have of portions of the New Testament are found on papyrus. In ancient times, scribes would write on strips of plant stokes or reeds that were glued together - this would form papyrus. This is where we get our word 'paper'.
